The newly updated facilities New Community Extended Care are designed for the comfort and well-being of your loved one. Our complex features comfortable single and double rooms each equipped with your own flat screen television, dining hall, library, game room, activity rooms on each floor, gift shop and outdoor courtyard that’s wheelchair accessible.
Designed with the input of residents, the dining experience at New Community Extended Care is purposefully created to remind your loved one of a home-cooked meal. Prepared fresh each day by our executive chef, every meal served is nutritionally well-balanced, features variety and includes seasonal fresh fruit. Our staff works closely with our certified dietary experts and physicians to ensure that residents are served hearty, delicious meals that also adhere to any individual dietary restrictions. We also serve special holiday meals which include turkey wings, cornish hen, barbeque ribs, ham, baked salmon and more.
Our trained professional recreation staff provides activities tailored to meet the functional abilities of each resident. Programs include arts and crafts, musical appreciation, bingo, discussion forums, barbecues and exercise. Other in-house services offered include holiday parties, computer lessons, and use of the game room and library.
Our Social Services and Admissions staff are here to ensure that your loved one is satisfied with their stay and receives care in a holistic manner. Experienced social workers meet with families and residents to counsel and acquaint them with the services available and to handle any adjustments that may be required during their stay. Discharge Planning is available for those residents who are admitted for short-term rehabilitation. Our social workers are also available to assist with the completion of all applications, including Medicare and Medicaid insurance. We also ensure that the family is kept up-to-date on their loved one’s health status, with families encouraged to become active participants during their stay.
New Community Extended Care prides itself in recognizing the spiritual needs of our residents. Religious services for all faiths and denominations are provided on a regular basis and our facility offers a beautiful in-house chapel. Holy Mass is celebrated on Mondays, Tuesdays and Sundays. Visiting church groups also hold services that are open to any residents who wish to attend.
